The Green Party of Iran condemns Canadian plans to export nuclear technology to Iran. According to Reuter’s reports, the Canadian Center for Fusion Magnetics is negotiating a deal to export nuclear fusion technology to Iran. Although Canada may justify the sale and say that the technology will only be used for peaceful energy production, it is the opinion of the Green Party of Iran that the opposite is true. It is no secret that the Government of Iran has been shopping for nuclear technology for non-peaceful purposes from several countries such as China, Russia, the former Soviet republics and even India and Pakistan. The Green Party of Iran strongly urges the Government of Canada to stop this deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The only consequence of such a deal will be the increased risk of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons and destabilization of the Persian Gulf region.
