An annual inflation rate of 33% in Iran

According to the statistical center of Iran (SCI), the inflation rate in the first two months of this year has exceeded 30% compared to the previous year. SCI says the consumer price index rose more than 33 percent in the 12 months leading up to April.

A noteworthy detail in the SCI’s report is that prices in the villages have risen more than cities in April and May of this year.

All different types of meat, fruits, and vegetables’ prices have risen by more than 100 percent.

According to SCI, the price of some goods has doubled compared to the previous year.

It is worth mentioning that this report has been released by the government, and usually, the actual rate of inflation is much higher than what is reported in yearly official reports.
